THE week after Tiger Woods defends his Australian Masters title at Kingston Heath, a pack of Tigers of a different stripe will be on the fairways of Long Island Country Club golf course in Frankston for the club's third celebrity pro-am on Sunday, November 21.
Among them will be Richmond players Jack Riewoldt and Mitch Morton, past legends Kevin Bartlett and his caddie Tom Hafey, plus former St Kilda coach Stan Alves, basketball great Andrew Gaze and former tennis champ Richard Fromberg.
Last year the event attracted 847 golfers and, for the second year running, won the PGA award for best course.
Last week, former Carlton and North Melbourne ruckman Corey McKernan had a trial hit-out at Long Island to get the feel of the course for November 21.
He was a bit rusty on the first nine, scoring 10 over par, then got his mojo and came home two under.
