BUDDING Frankston star Samara Hill has been selected in the under-18 Victorian Metropolitan team to contest the Australian junior basketball championships in April.
Hill, who represented metro at the under-16 championships last year, is one of the Blues' brightest prospects and a regular at Lady Blues SEABL training.
The Rowville Sports Academy student will be a bottom-aged player in the metro outfit, which won the competition last year.
Metro coach Kelly Breazeale said winning the competition was a realistic goal for her talented young squad.
"The Victoria Metro women's team has a very successful history at the under-18 national championships and this year's team will be working hard to uphold that tradition," she said.
"The selected squad are talented basketball players and the coaching staff are excited to be working with these young ladies.
"We are all very proud to wear the Vic Metro blue and white and we know the championships will bring the best from each state."
The tournament in Perth begins on April 14. All Australian states and territories are represented as well as a representative team from New Zealand.
