There are some great school activities next month for active Frankston youngsters.
MOTOCROSS school will be open to Frankston children aged over five during the September holidays.
The Honda SMART training organisation will run one-day classes at Frankston City Motorcycle Park on September 20 and October 1.
Belinda Pryn of Honda SMART says the Frankston track is unique as it is a public, non-affiliated venue, which means one-day licences can be purchased.
Motocross school costs $110 a child, plus $20 if a licence is required, and includes lessons in correct bike size, set-up and handling, as well as braking, cornering and individual coaching from the sidelines.
Between them, the instructors have 20 years of racing experience, 10 Australian titles and 10 state championships.
All feedback from coaches is provided on an individual basis.
"Coaches might pull riders off the track and say 'this needs work or that was fantastic'; sideline feedback is all one on one," Ms Pryn said.
Children who attend the Frankston classes need their own bikes and safety gear, including helmets, goggles and boots. Safety pants should be worn if possible, although some smaller children take part in jeans.
Sign-in is at 8.30am and classes finish at 4.30pm. Children receive a show bag and certificate on graduation.

Swings and rounds
SANDHURST Golf Club is running four clinics over the school holidays to give children the opportunity to learn the game from former Australian Masters winner Craig Spence.
A PGA touring professional, Spence has played on the US PGA and European tours but is best known for his victory at the 1999 Australian Masters.
He recently completed a PGA bridging program focusing on teaching skills.
"I'm really excited to put my new-found teaching skills into practice by conducting these masterclasses, hopefully teaching up and coming golfers some new techniques," Spence said.
"The one-day clinic, which costs $135, is a fun way to gain fundamental golf skills and will include a six-hole competition."
The masterclasses will run from 9am- 3.30pm on September 21, 24, 28 and October 1. Snacks, lunch and prizes are provided.
* To join, call Sandhurst golf shop on 87877022 and ask to register for the Craig Spence school holiday program.
