Natalie Vanderwal's involvement in Save The Children's Trek Nepal is inspiring the community to give to those less fortunate.
For as long as she can remember, Ms Vanderwal has had a dream and a passion to go overseas and help the less fortunate.
This year, her dream is only steps away from becoming a reality - she has volunteered for Save The Children's Trek Nepal between November 6-18.
Trek Nepal gives people a chance to make a tangible contribution to the health and education programs in Nepal, which will help deliver a better future for children there.
For the participants, it is a unique opportunity to enjoy the sights and sounds of wonderful Nepal, while at the same time being part of the work of Save the Children.
Over the 13 days, participants will visit a community centre to meet new-born Nepalese babies, hear about how Save the Children's health programs have helped mothers and children in the community, and see the work of female community health volunteers.
They will also make a tangible difference to children in the villages by assisting with a classroom construction, painting alongside children, teaching them some English and staying among the community.
On Saturday, Ms Vanderwal is holding a fund-raiser at Cafe B'Artiste in Frankston.
