Students ramp up efforts for charity

31 Aug, 2010 01:00 AM
TWENTY Mt Eliza students are getting hands-on experience in the fashion world to help their charity effort.

Bayside shopping centre has recruited the Toorak College students to help stage a fashion event and style workshop to aid local charity Fitted For Work, which provides free clothing, accessories and advice to women struggling to break into the job market.

The young fashionistas were initiated into the world of apparel and merchandising with a trip to the shopping centre to meet Bayside's resident fashion stylist Andrea Hart and visual merchandiser John Shepherd.

Their learning curve will culminate on September 17 at AMC Cinemas with a screening of the classic movie Breakfast at Tiffanys, a fashion parade and a style workshop hosted by fashion duo Inez Garcia and Carlie Oates. All ticket proceeds will be donated to Fitted For Work.
