ALANA Denham-Preston, 14, and Harrison Lane, 15, are working on their puppeteering skills for a production at Frankston library of Roald Dahl's book The Big Friendly Giant.
They will also appear in a series of Melbourne performances presented by The Victorian Youth Theatre and the Children's Performing Company of Australia this month and in February.
The TBFG tells the tale of friendship between a little girl and a big-hearted giant.
Alana, who has been acting since she was six and has three roles in the play, said the show had been a great experience.
"It is a bit hard to get the hang of it in the beginning. You have to make sure the puppet's mouth is moving when you are speaking. I have been practising with a sock puppet at home."
Harrison said working with puppets was a new experience for him. "It is all new and exciting but it is really fun," he said.
The Big Friendly Giant will be staged at Frankston library at 12.45pm on Sunday, February 5. For more information on TBFG performances, visit cpca.com.au/young-australian-broadway-chorus/free-family-fundays.
