Sexual assault on Frankston beach

POLICE are investigating the sexual assault of a 31-year-old woman on Frankston Beach.

Detective Leading Senior Constable Deborah Charteris said that at 4.40am on February 5, a woman was walking along the foreshore boardwalk when she was attacked.

Witnesses who came to the woman's aid told police the offender was a 20-to-25-year-old man of Islander or Middle Eastern appearance, about 180 centimetres with short black hair and wearing dark coloured jeans and a T-shirt with a print across the front.

Considering it was the morning after a Saturday night (with liquor licences going on till 5am) she was lucky it wasn't any worse. Hopefully CCTV footage from local bars might help identify the person responsible - she might want to rethink her early morning walks on Sunday - especially in that area she was attacked.
