New tip in Skye to open Monday

23 Feb, 2010 10:09 AM
FRANKSTON residents can keep using the waste and recycling transfer station in Centenary Park Drive, Frankston, until Sunday.

The new waste centre in Harold Road, Skye, will open for waste and recyclables from households the following day.

The new centre, run by Veolia Environment Services, will open

7am-4pm Monday to Friday and 8am-4pm

on weekends.

Frankston Council CEO George Modrich said: "Although the new centre will be privately operated, as part of an arrangement with Veolia all rateable residential properties will receive four 10per cent discount vouchers from council each year for the Harold Road facility."

The new Harold Road tip is scheduled to open for commercial waste disposal in May.

For more information about the new centre, call 132955.
