Free training for Landcare volunteers

09 Mar, 2010 10:46 AM
A FREE training session to motivate and encourage Landcare volunteers will be held in Frankston on Thursday

The training, by the Department of Sustainability and Environment's Landcare team, is open to people wanting to learn more about volunteering, and Landcare projects. The recruitment initiative aims to increase the capacity of organisations and volunteers to help the environment through partnerships between Landcare and the community.

Regional Landcare co-ordinator for the Port Phillip and Western Port, Doug Evans, said the Frankston session would give group leaders an insight into who they were trying to recruit, and what may appeal to potential volunteers. The session, from 10am-4pm, will be at the DSE regional office, 40 Ballarto Road.
