FRANKSTON'S Bayside shopping centre is officially baby-friendly after receiving a tick of approval from the Australian Breastfeeding Association, which has a national campaign to recognise safe, clean and convenient baby care rooms.
The care rooms were assessed by members of ABA's Frankston group, with a focus on meeting the needs of breastfeeding mothers, while being suitable for all parents caring for children.
Under the system, a three-star baby care room is considered a "great place" for mothers to feed and change their babies, and a five-star room is "excellent".
Bayside has four five-star rooms and one three-star room.
ABA was founded in 1964 with the aim of giving mother-to-mother support to breastfeeding women. For information about the Frankston group, call Helen on 87900265.
