Art gallery mystery no more

07 Feb, 2012 03:00 AM
MYSTERY surrounding Frankston's newest art gallery was solved last Friday night when Mystery Installation was unveiled at Punk Milk.

The Young Street gallery opened last month and for her latest exhibition owner Justine Milburn drew on her background in film directing, multimedia, music and fine arts to dream up a sci-fi bar of robots, topped off with smoke machine and lighting effects.

Ms Milburn said she wanted the exhibition to show it was possible to create an enthralling set with a small budget.

She opened the gallery to offer new artists a space to show off their talent and only charges them $20 to hang a painting.

"There is some really good stuff coming out of Frankston and I hope the community exhibitions will kick-start them into gear and give them a taste for it."
