From its humble beginnings as a five day event in 1965, depicting plant specimens in jars on trestle tables to the current format of floral displays, live music, exhibitions, workshops, interpretive artworks, guided walks and family activities during the entire month of September, the Festival has always attracted large crowds.
The 2009 Kings Park Festival attracted over 500,000 people throughout the month, including gardening enthusiasts, families, school students, artists, seniors and fashion lovers in their droves, underlining the fact that Kings Park and Botanic Garden is definitely the place to be in September.
